Robert Hemingway - BDS,FDS,M Orth,M. Dent Sci

Robert qualified from University College Hospital, London in 1984.  He spent 6 years in general dental practice both as an associate and a principal.  He left practice to undertake various hospital positions before undertaking his orthodontic training at Liverpool Dental Hospital.  After qualifying in 1998 he worked in hospital and practice prior to setting up a new orthodontic practice in Worthing.

His clinical expertise combines cosmetic and functional orthodontic treatments to deliver optimal results in the quickest time.

Robert proudly holds memberships in the World Federation of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, British Orthodontic Society and the British Dental Association.

Catherine Rhoden Catherine Rhoden - BDS

Cathy graduated from Birmingham Dental School in 1985.  She worked as a dentist in general practice for 10 years before a break whilst bringing up a young family.

Cathy started to work at Orthoworld in 2000 carrying out orthodontics only and also held a Clinical Assistant post in orthodontics at Worthing Hospital from 2003 – 05.

She has attended several courses and study days in various aspects of orthodontics during her time here and at the time of writing is studying for the FGDP Diploma in Primary Care Orthodontics.

David RhodenDavid Rhoden - BDS DPDS

David graduated in dentistry at Birmingham Dental School in 1985.  He started in general practice in Rustington in 1986 . David undertook the Eastman London University Restorative Dentistry course in 1993 and the Bristol University Diploma in Post Graduate Dental Studies 1998 – 01. 

David started in Orthodontics in 2000 and is currently undertaking the British Orthodontic Society Diploma.

Miss Nikoletta Kafantari - DipDs Thessaloniki 2008, Msc in Endodontics 2011

Nikoletta is from Greece and graduated with honours from the Dental School of Aristotle University Thessaloniki in Greece 2008.

In 2010, she was selected in the Msc programme of Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute University London, and whilst being the youngest graduate student, she passed with distinction.

Nikoletta has gained clinical experience in the past in private practices both in Greece and in the UK and has participated in research programmes regarding new advances in Endodontics in universities in both countries.  Her specific interest has been the identification of the factors associated with weakening of teeth as a result of endodontic treatment.

Presently, Nikoletta is based in Brighton and is working as an Endodontist in private practices in Worthing and East Grinstead, whilst being a Member of the British Endodontic Society.

Nikoletta has gained the required experience to analyse endodontic problems, discuss available options and select the appropiate treatment for each patient.  She can systematically plan the management of an endodontic problem and has the clinical and surgical skills to execute it with a high degree of competence.

Rowena Self - Trainee Orthodontic Therapist

Rowena started her orthodontic career at OrthoWorld in 2006, shortly after finishing her own orthodontic treatment carried out by Dr Hemingway.

In 2008, Rowena successfully passed the NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing at Chichester College, West Sussex.  Going on in 2011 to a further Specialist qualification gained in Aldershot as an Orthodontic Nurse.

Rowena was accepted on the South Wales Orthodontic Therapy Course, also in 2011 and is due to sit her exam in June 2012.

Rowena has also attended several other courses and study days, including the Incognito in - surgery training for nurses and various aspects of orthodontics to maintain high levels of standards.

Rowena enjoys attending live music concerts and festivals, swimming and interior design in her spare time.
